Saturday was our "driving day" which means my sleeping day. We traveled out of Indiana and through Kansas, all the way to Colorado Springs. Let me tell you, Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore.
It was over 100 degrees and impossible to find a place to take me for a walk. We stopped every two hours with high expectations, but I was not interested. Did I mention it was 100 degrees? Also, any green area in Kansa is covered in these miniature picky balls that stuck in my beautiful curls. Mom kept finding them and pulling them out - didn't hurt me, but apparently the razor sharp balls kept splintering her fingers.
Arriving in Colorado Springs was like Dorothy and Toto arriving in Oz. It's beautiful here. We are staying in this newly developed area and it's obvious why they are building condos and apartments and housing developments everywhere. Mom and Dad saw the In-N-Out and said we are officially on the west coast. The views of the mountains are incredible and we can't wait to visit the Garden of the Gods and all the other sites the next few days.
